CIOCOSì A SIENA / CHOCOLATE FESTIVAL IN SIENA

Si heu decidit passar un cap de setmana a la Toscana i voleu fer una passejada amb encant, us recomano que passeu per Siena. Des d'avui fins diumenge, una de les places més boniques d'Itàlia acollirà "Ciocosì", festa de la xocolata artesanal. Hi trobareu demostracions, classes de cuina i degustacions, en un entorn màgic, una proposta ben dolça en un dels centres medievals millor conservats al món. Imperdible!!

Tre capolavori da tre dei più popolari artisti del Rinascimento: Un orafo, figlio della più fiorente bottega dell'epoca; un pittore di soggetti mitologici e simbologia ancora non tanto chiara ai nostri occhi perché richiesta da committenti privati, non apprezzato da tutti nel suo tempo e a lungo dimenticato; e un artista plurale, il migliore scultore nel suo e nel nostro tempo, a cui dobbiamo oggi fare gli auguri!

Ma siccome "Rinascimento" significa proprio questo, "rinascita", quest'arte meravigliosa si rifà a qualcosa di precedente, molto molto precedente ma di una qualità straordinaria. Tutti ne rimasero sconvolti quando vennero "scoperti" alcuni pezzi d'arte romana antica e gli artisti ne apprezzarono subito il valore e li studiarono a lungo e con passione. La prova è che ancora oggigiorno siamo meravigliati da questi capolavori che speriamo che sopravvivano a lungo.

Non ci si stanca mai di avere queste gioie davanti agli occhi!

ROBERT CAPA: EXHIBIT IN SAN GIMIGNANO

San Gimignano, the small town in the heart of the Tuscany region, is known for being (together with Siena) one of the best well-preserved medieval centers in Europe. It is famous also for something less historical but not less interesting: in the main square we can find the best gelato in the world (winner of numerous prizes): Gelateria Dondoli.

But nor the architecture of the town neither the gelato are the themes that I would like to share today.

A contemporary exhibition will take place in this marvelous location: "Robert Capa in Italy 1943-44". After the success in Rome, Florence, Milan and Genoa among other places, we can visit it next in the Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art Raffaele de Grada, from March 4th to July 10th.

Considered the father of the photo journalism, the Hungarian Robert Capa (nick name for Endre Friedman), even if he never was a soldier, documented five wars: the Spanish Civil War, the Sino-Japanese War, the World War II, the Arab-Israeli War in 1948 and the First Indochina War. 

The exhibition, consist of 78 pictures about the World War II in Italy, has been organized together by the the Town of San Gimignano, the Hungarian National Museum of Bucharest, the Fratelli Alinari (world's oldest photographic firm) and the Foundation for the History of the Photography.

A great opportunity to see the images of a disaster through the eyes of one brave journalist who was there as close as possible to take the best photos.

Contemporary art and a medieval walk in the same location, the best way to satisfy mind and soul.
